Spicy Hot Buttered Shrimp
I have no idea if my mom created this recipe on her own or found it in a magazine. All I know is it is very tasty (and VERY sinful). It's also quite possibly the easiest dish on earth to make. I've made this dish for crowds ranging from 2 to 15 people. It all takes the same amount of time. The recipe below will feed about 8 people. Adjust the recipe accordingly for a smaller or larger group.
Ingredients:
* 4 lb medium to large shrimp (unpeeled)
* 1 lb butter
* Garlic salt
* Lemon Pepper
* Black Pepper
* French Bread
Directions:
1. Melt butter in large pan (10x15 or metal foil pan).
2. Toss in shrimp. Sprinkle liberally with garlic salt & lemon pepper.
3. Completely cover with black pepper. (And I mean COMPLETELY).
4. Bake uncovered at 300 for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
5. Serve in large bowls. Scoop up about 1/4 c of butter mixture & put in the bottom of each bowl.
6. Serve with hot French bread & a green salad.
My Tid-Bits:
* Yes, this has tons of butter. Just ignore the fact that it's not good for you.
* Sopping up the butter with the French bread is the BEST part!
* This may seem like this uses excessive amounts of pepper, but when you peel the shrimp, most of the pepper comes off.
* And the name is a bit misleading...this dish really isn't that spicy.
